I have a original t-maxx i'm converting to a 21, the kit comes with hd cvd, pipe, air filter. I'm thinking of going with the mach 26 engine.Anybody have any info that might be useful for me. any advice would be helpful

might wanna beef up your transmission up from what i hear their not to strong that big block going to strip your gears

The diffs. GET SOME TOUGH DIFFS!!!!!!! Those will go like crazy. I havent had a problem with the transmission. RPM A arms are highly recommended.. Those toothpicks that come stock wont live long. Get the Mach 26. It is well worth it. Just to let you know though, not many after market parts will work for your maxx once the conversion is succesfully installed, and my .26 maxx has over $1200 invested in it on upgrades. Have fun.

Old thread, I know....
I have assembled 2 of the dynamite conversions. I used the picco .26's in both of them. No experience here with the Mach .26.

Like hb1111 and Vincemaxx119 have said you will need to replace the trasns gears with steel or aluminum and go to Proline or RPM a arms.

In addition you will need to beef up the f/r diffs. RRP, Kipster and UE will probably be your best bet. Some say that you can shim them properly but I had no luck in that area.

The rear dog bone on both of mine seemed to be too tight of a fit. You may have to get out your dremel or a small file, you'll see what I'm refering to when you assemble it.

Your cb that came stock on your original T Maxx has the wrong gearing for a big block. You will have to replace it. Possibly a 22t or a 23t depending on the power of the engine that you decide on.

Last but not least you may want to go with a slipper clutch set up. If you do get the RRP eMaxx small slipper plate and get the 66 or 65 spur gear or you may want to look at UE for the strobe set up.

The set up is lightweight cost effective and very quick. There still should be a pic or two in my gallery of one of them.

Also, get aluminum diff cases. They will help against flex and make the internals last longer. I run maximizer aluminum diff cups and my diff gears last a long time. The only thing I chew up are my diff outdrive bearings. About 1 set every gallon. As for the diff gears with maximizer cup and shimmed for minimal slop in an aluminum case, 6 gallons and counting... 4 of which on a 21 maxx, the other 2 gallons on a 18 maxx. I know it's hard to follow, but i gave up on a 21 maxx and dropped back down to normal size.
