DX3S Antennae repair

I have had my DX3S for a year and a half and love it, 3 months ago the antennae got crushed and it would glitch at any further than 5 ft. After procrastinating sending it in I decided to fix it myself as opposed to pay them $100.

Doner 2.4 ghz router that I had so I removed the antenae.

I had to use JB weld putty to get the new antennae to fit in the new mount.

All done and range tested to further than I can see so we are good to go. Also I now have an antennae that will unscrew when I am storeing it

Nice job! I'm still scared to death to get near a circuit board with a soldering iron. Soldering a Dean's connector to a wire still kicks my butt!

Thanks I tried not to think about the fact I was messing with an expensive radio but it works good...

It's all in the chip, other than the trims and controls.

Nice thought on unscrewing it. They should COME that way.
