I have had my DX3S for a year and a half and love it, 3 months ago the antennae got crushed and it would glitch at any further than 5 ft. After procrastinating sending it in I decided to fix it myself as opposed to pay them $100.

Doner 2.4 ghz router that I had so I removed the antenae.

I had to use JB weld putty to get the new antennae to fit in the new mount.

All done and range tested to further than I can see so we are good to go. Also I now have an antennae that will unscrew when I am storeing it:)

Nice job! I'm still scared to death to get near a circuit board with a soldering iron. Soldering a Dean's connector to a wire still kicks my butt!:hehe:
 
Thanks I tried not to think about the fact I was messing with an expensive radio:D but it works good...
