Hey all you R/C nuts I have a question I would like answered about Duratrax products. I don't want a rant on how they are trash because 5 years ago they were junk.
What is the real skinny on the present day products. GM made poopy cars in the past which proves that they can improve so why not Duratrax.
Let the games begin.

I have the Nitro Evader ST and each of my 3 kids have the electric version, we are very happy with our choices. Sure things break now and then but anything breaks if you bash it hard enough. There are sites on the net explaining hopups and modifications that can be done to make the weak spots almost bullet proof, like front bulkhead braces, rear brace, servo save fix and so on. A friend of mine has a son who break his Losi more than my kids break their Evaders, so it's not "you get what you pay for". It's all in how you treat your investment.

i had a st pro...and everything broke before i could get it off the pavement....now I'm friend has a thunderquake and he can never keep it running... i mean their cheap but you have to buy a lotta parts for them unless you want to be out 2 weeks while you wait for a new one each time

RS43Drifter's dad use to have one. Head on collision with ym storm while both at WOT only resulted with the bending of the chassis and many braces of a Axis. Flimsy! I mean as far as actuall engine running, it ran fine but the quality sucked ass. They're service was really good I must admit though.

Let me first say that GM never made a shi**y car. I think you mean FORD, (LOL). I'm split on Durtrax. My son has an evader that is always breaking. But on the other hand I have a Duratrax charger (Intellipeak twin pulse charger), that has run like a champ for me. I guess it would depend on the application. I would never buy an engine made by Dynamite, but I would buy their chassis parts.

Doubt you had a Pro version seeing how the ST Pro is not due to be released until June. I recieved the following email from DuraTrax....

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your recent e-mail. The new electric Evader Pro is due to arrive here in June and we should have the replacement graphite parts around the same time.

My kids are 10, 12 and 14, they are no harder on the trucks than anyone else. They have not broken that many parts. One of them I have only had to replace the motor brushes, the other two has been front body mounts, 3 front suspension arms and a rear hub carrier(Landing on back wheel from 10 ft in the air). We have owned ours for almost 3 months now with minimal damage. I broke more parts on my RC10 conversion during a weekend of racing 15 yrs ago.

Hey man, I'm all Bowtie. But lets not forget about the chevette and the citation! Those were bonified BUCKETS.

Thank you sir. I know that every car company makes some crap, didn't mean to pick on GM. Pinto's, Mopar bombs, the list goes on and on.
My reasoning for this post is to see why everyone bitchs about Duratrax so much. Granted my buggy has broken some front arms but damn I couldn't control it at first.
Now that I have learned to run the thing better nothing has broken or fallen off.

i have an axis and i have broken the front bulkhead like 3 times mostly driver error. it starts goood runs well and all in all a decent buggy for the dollar. if i could afford 750 at a time i would buy a k3 but i can't so right now i am stuck with my axis and for my weekend bashes it does great. I also have a thunderquake with an xtm 24.7 in it and that thing runs really good have upgraded to the extreme parts for the parts that are a little brittle and it is almost bullet proof now. i know everyone says they are cheap and undependable but from my experiance the only time they break is when i screw up driving.

and the front bulhead that i like to break from running into curbs and railroad ties costs 6 bucks and some change from tower so it is really cheap to fix it as well
