It's part of the allure. Nascar doesn't even need to actively utilize wrecks to attract people. More people are attracted to tragedy than not.

Not to point any fingers (seriously) but there are plenty of people who will discredit Nascar for "showcasing" racing accidents but will turn around and laugh their butt off watching Tosh.0 picking on some kid who faceplanted to concrete trying to axle grind a rail at a skate park. Nothing against the comedian, the guys hilarious. Just making a point.

Tosh is great and so are the massive face plants. No one else slammed their face into the concrete at high speed under caution, though.

I am a NASCAR fan. I've been one as long as I can remember. It's a double edged sword with a driver like Kyle. I want to go on the record to say I can't stand the dude and believe he should have been parked for the rest of the year. But guys like Kyle is what NASCAR hangs their hat on. Kyle is one talented race car driver and I have seen him do some unbelievable thing behind the wheel. NASCAR can't afford to loose drivers like him. So that is why he was not suspended indefinately. They sell the drama and carnage that stock car racing can be and fans eat it up. I am in by no means supporting what Kyle did. If I were Hornaday I would have punched him square in the mouth... kinda surprise he or Kevin Harvick (The truck owner) didn't do it. I was a huge Dale Sr fan... and for years NASCAR supported his "intimidating" style of driving, hell they even nicknamed him the intimidator. He had no problems rubbin his way to lead and he and other drivers like him have helped make NASCAR what it is today. So that is why they won't suspend him indefinitely.

You have to be an Egomaniac A-hole to be in that Business with few exceptions.

He's a real piece of work though. People have been seriously injured or Killed from lesser things than what he's pulled.

A year in Racing is a LIfetime. They wouldn't do that. If they had some real Integrity and Charcter they'd bench I'm for at least 3 Months though.

I can't help but wonder how they would have dealt with him if he seriously injured or killed another driver. Same thing? Tell him he's a naughty boy? Thank him for amping up the fans?
Maybe the next time someone will pay the ultimate price for his stupidity and then heads will roll for not dealing with it this time.

If I were a Nascar official the thing I'd be most concerned about (aside from drivers safety) is the backlash that NASCAR would receive IF a driver is ever seriously hurt due to something like this.
