My revo battery isn't charging.. i plug in the charger, it blinks for like 3 seconds and then says it is fully charged.. flip the switch and nothing responds.. bad switch or battery?
 
take the battery out and try to charge it direct. bypass the switch. it if workes that way yuo know its the switch.

You can do that and/or test the voltage across the switch and from the charger (providing the battery is charged and you have a voltmeter). I eliminated my switch and now my battery connects directly into receiver.
 
How long hav u had the batt and do u keep it fully charged all the time? If u you do your battery can memorize the charge I've had that happen on my Ham radio's. The same goes for cell phones I use my cell till it's almost down to nothing then I give it a fresh charge. If your batt has memorized a charge the only way to fix it is by taking 2 wires 1 pos 1 neg hook them to a 12volt source like a car batt then attatch then neg to your revo batt and very quickly touch the poss of your revo batt hopefully that fixes it sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

what?????!!!! your tring to blow the battery up?? shooting 12v at that many amps to a 5cell battery like that could make it explode!

besides, the pack that comes with the revo is nimh not nicd. it doesn't develop a memory.


swarm, try to charge it without the switch, just strait to the battery, if that works its the switch, very simple test.:wasted:
 
Man beason good save....Revo you are confused my friend...what you describe will in fact FRY the batt for any future use.

Swarmjt try the test beason describes...the switches in the stock box are known to be temperamental.

You LHS should have a ready replacement....I can t remember if yo have to buy the box as well....let me know as I may have said box with switch ...and or just a switch for you.

Just to make sure you're all clear on batteries:
NiCad, or nickle cadmium is the only type that developes a memory. If you use these, drain them flat after use, then recharge them.
NiMh, or nickle metal hydride last longer than NiCad, and do NOT develope a memory. They can be recharged at any point of usage, and restored to a full charge.
LiPos, or Lithium Polymer batts do not have a memory either. These are the longest lasting batts out there right now, but also require a special charger.
 
What kinds of batt do they use in cell phones or does it very with the type of phone?
 
battery shorted :(.. got new one.. back to bashing :) and talon... no broken parts with 3 gallons later

Traxxas sells just the switch. I found one at my LHS today while I watched another member cussing because one of his co-workers sabotaged a customer's plane by pouring CY glue into the motor.
