Hey man I know exactly what your saying, I have 2 of em a 25, and the x 4.6 I bash the crap out of em, and they still are awesome. KEEPIN THE FORUM ALIVE!!!!

HPI sent me one for the front, got it fixed and busted the back. Waiting on lhs now to get some in. Thats why I have 2. Going with BP this time, buying 2 so I'll have one for the front too.

eh, i think all it needs is to be shimmed right... the flux on the other hand the BP's are mandatory

I shimmed the pinion on the front , seems like that's all it needed. I figured the BP's would be the way to go. The new Savage x 4.6 comes with them. :whhooo:

yeah i shimmed the pinion on mine too... i got mine 3 months ago and it doesn't, so i guess you mean newer than that?

My XL came with BP diffs and aluminum diff cases, havent shimmed them yet but everything is still holding up after my first gallon of fuel. Although I did have to reset the cb and spur gear mesh it was way too loose from the factory in my opinion.

@ bgbdwlf, I got about 3 months ago also. The new ones coming out this month have the bp upgrade and single shocks installed.

The bp diffs are not needed on the nitros... not sure why they did that except to raise the price. The single shocks suck too. Broke the cap on one of my shocks on the Flux so now its useless. At least with 8 small bore shocks you can keep running

Haven't checked the price yet . LHS owner said that he could only get two of them. Must be in hot demand. I suspect it will be in 450.00 range ? I paid 399.00 for mine new.

481 on towerhobbies not a bad price, but pretty much is what the cost of the diffs retail for

haha i know what you mean. i have two savage 25s from way back when they came out and there still running strong for the most part. one has some starting problems now but the other one is MINTT! i want an X 4.6 tho so bad

hey guy just started this forum and i realy like the savage x also.. i have a savage x 4.6 and i havent yet run it, i just got it a few weeks ago but got into a sled accident and been laid up in bed, it is fully aluminum and i dont know what the guy was thinking when he built this thing.. it is completely fully aluminum, i gave it to my gf and i want to get the new savage x 4.6rtr when it comes out.. can anyone tell me if i should? is it a good choice? i was just gonna get the other one they have had out for a while with the 8 shocks and purple anodizing but then i saw that the new one is only like 50.00 more.. is it worth it? i am a traxxas guy myself but i am tired of the same trucks. i want to try something new.. can anyone suggest anything? what should i do? thanks

I was a Traxxas guy too, and have no problems with them. I wanted to try something new so I went with the Savage X. The diffs need to be shimmed from the factory thats the only issue I've seen other than a few bearings failed. The bulletproof diffs are not needed, neither are the super heavy duty axles or driveshafts. They do not make enough power to break them. I would, if I were you find the X 4.6 that I got and just shim the diffs, the extra money is not worth the cost of the new one.

did u get the orange or blue one? one of those two? i dont know the model number all i know is its the savage x 4.6 rtr version lol

they discontinued them? for real? so we can only get the new savage now? thats the one i was gonna get at first

The new x 4.6 comes with the bullet proof diffs which are normally 40 bucks a piece, heavy duty drivetrain, orange anodizing, and the new body also looks aewsome. I would say go for it. Did I mention the orange anodizing? Looks way better than purple!
