Dogbone question...

Last night, while repairing the brakes on my savage, I found this little gem of damage:

Now, here's the question... Are there any dogbones out there that can withstand this better? These are the "heavy duty" ones.

(not seen in the picture; the dogbone is also TWISTED 90 degrees!)

That's the heavy duty he has. I haven't found anything better yet. The heavy duty ones usually just break.

Interesting. I was thinking of going with MIP CVD's, as I have those in all my other cars and I've only broken one in 10 years.

MIP's it is... I straightened the bent one to get me by until I can afford some.

a wobbly one probably wrecks havoc on bearings huh?

I imagine it does... They're the stock bearings anyways.. I got it fairly straightened, and imagine it couldn't have been bent for more than a tank or two. Three, tops.

That Axial Spec 1S .28 is a potent little sucker... Probably not as potent as the OS 30, but for $110, I can't complain one bit.

Slight update on the dogbone....

I ordered replacements from an eBay chopshop; cost around $8.75 total for four (from an X 4.6). After replacing all the dogbones, and pulling them one-by-one to discover the damage, here's the family picture:

All but one is twisted, and one is bent slightly. These are the dogbones from the Savage X SS kit, too.

I have the heavy-duty ones and haven't had any problem with them...yet, just proves that you bash harder than me...:

I broke one of the heavy duty ones in half and twisted one like 70 degrees.

I will agree that MIP are good however I still have snapped a center/rear CVD on my Savage.

WTF!! I haven't broken any dogbone yet, and I'm very hard on the truck believe me...so i dont get it. OH NO, i just jinx it...prob gonna break one soon then.:\
