Now, before any of you freak out on me, yes, I did run an air filter on it! I took it and it is soaking in some Simple Green.

Now, just need to get it cleaned up so I can get it all dirty again!

cool looks like you had fun man. can't wait till I get a savage and get it dirty like yours.

Savages are happy when they are dirty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Yes they are, Skeeter! Yes they are! Enjoy that rig, man! My Dad, brother and my son took our trucks to a construction site and bashed for a good three or so hours! Best Father's Day I've had so far and every rig, even my boys E-Maxx, were just as dirty!

Have fun getting yours dirty!

NICE! looks like you had a hell of a time.

So what was the break report? I know someone broke something.

Not one damn thing, my man! Not a single thing broke and I tell ya, I beat the snot out of it!

My son broke an axle carrier.

My brother broke the pullstart on his Savage (but that's because he thinks it's a mower).

My father tore the exhaust coupler on his Kyosho Baja Beetle and snapped two body posts.

man i remember when my fist savvy looked like that all dirty and covered in mud. great memories. glad you had fun man.

mud

Well Kurt, I tell ya, I got this from Sweetdiesel in January and this, truly, is the first time I've had it quite this dirty! I'm going to start with taking a compressor to it, then probably pulling the engine and electronics and dunking the whole thing! I'm going to try and get it cleaned up tomorrow night because Saturday, my wife and kids leave for Atlanta to visit her sister, so it's bachelor time for the kid!

Meh...thats not that dirty...

LOL, I've ahd mine pretty damn dirty after I took it to a sand pit the day after it stopped raining for about a week. I completely rebuilt mine after that haha.

Sounds like ya had a great time MW. Bet it's cool to have the whole family involved. Only way ya could have made it any better would have been a couple of beers and some grilling afterward....

Had mine out once this year. About the hardest I have bashed it.
Damage:
Posts that hold the battery cover on. Zip-tied it on.... only to strip the spur gear.

I love mine.

edit: Monkey, as ya take it apart, spray the parts with WD40 and set them aside. As you pick up the pcs to put them on, blow them off with the air. Works good for me anyway.

Digger, actually, my Pop started a fire in his fire pit, we threw some hot dogs on some sticks, cracked a couple ice cold Budweisers and laughed at my brother! Didn't want the day to end!

Monkey, Sounds like it was an awsome day my friend. Everyone had a blast and then topped it off with dogs and a cold one. Can't get any better than that. Glad you had a great fathers day. We all deserve one every now and again.

my only concern is that i plan on bashing 3-4 times a week, if not daily. I don't plan on getting it THAT dirty but you never know. Won't simple green dissolve the grease/oil inside the bearings and such? I was thinking about pulling the motor and elec like you said and soaking it in some sort of lubricant/cleaner with an air hose at the bottom of the container with maybe 10 psi just to keep solution moving. Then blowing it off after. Would that work?

No, the bearings are sealed, so Simple Green won't dissolve it outright. I usually blow mine off with compressed air and it's good enough. For daily bashing and the like, I wouldn't even yank all the electronics. Just spray the areas down that need it, knock the big stuff off with an old toothbrush then blow it out real good.

I normally hit mine with a garden hose after every bash day if it gets dirty. Then I blow the bearings (that I can get at) with canned air and the carb/servo's then I lube the joints with white lightning.

I never do an actual tear down... except when I need to fix something like a diff, but even then, I just clean the diff/bulk end that I'm working on.
