What you do not want to do is submarine your RC. -SkyMaxx

If you do submarine your rc take notes from the great Beason...Leave the rc in the water and get a camera LOL

SkyMaxx that pic in the mud looks like a lot of fun, I'll have to look into a filter cover =devil

As tomoracle mentioned, there are holes in the top, but the bottom area is also open to allow air to be drawn in. The cover is quite literally like an umbrella. It simply keeps stuff from coming over the top and through the sides. Air passes through the holes (that have a baffle beneath to keep mud and water from traveling through) and through the bottom which is open. Trust me, it works.

PJ-1 is a company that makes oils and stuff for motorbikes, it is not a code for one of there products (such as wd-40 or AC-90).

So you may all have a aerosol can of PJ-1 but some may have oil, cleaner, grease......etc

Hope this helps

Tom

Like my post said, exactly what the can says
PJ-1 Foam Air Filter Cleaner, it's a black aerosol can. So I didn't capitalize the product name and described the can, lazy typing.

For cleaning I try to get most of the top layer of crap off prior to doing any deep cleaning. You don't want to shove the dirt in the filter.

For cleaning I prefer warm/hot water and dish soap. I also clean the housing with the same but with a soft gun bristle or a toothbrush.Just be careful not to tear the housing.

Sorry guys, I didn't mean to make a debate out of it. tomoracle290 knew what I was thinking... I thought PJ-1 was the name of the "oil", not the company that makes a line of items.

I normally use WD-40 to clean the element. Then I wash with soap and water. Doing so makes it white like new. Just soap and water leaves it dingy. The only problem with WD-40 is that it loads up the element with a light grease that I have to squeegee out when washing with soap and water. Looks really disgusting and I'm sure it's really good for our drain. ;)

No worries...threadjacking will be tolerated from those suffering from ADD or Alzheimers...all else will be jacked in kind. =devil

Why? You clean the filter with water. It doesn't come off by just getting wet and if you driving around where your airfilter gets totally saturated with water your gonna get water in the mill regardless of what your using.
