Hey everyone I'm wanting to upgrade the steering servo on my SCX6 to a steering servo that requires direct power. I've found the a servo I want, my question is as long as I have a battery that isn't too strong for the servo, I shouldn't need a BEC right?

correct.. all you will need is a servo extension wire and slide out signal plug and plug it into rx

Ok sweet, also does the servo have to be plugged into the balance port on the battery? Or can I just get a JST adapter to plug it straight into the main xt60 connection

the balance plug can only supply 8 amps b4 damage will occur.. id plug it straight into the xt 60
