I have a HPI Savage X 4.6 and I notice there is a lot of wheel spin on the in -side wheels during a turn. I want to stop this or at least slow it down. I was thinking of adding 50,000 weight oil in the rear differential or putting a locker. What do you guys think.
If I went with a locker how difficult would it be to make turns fast and slow and should I do both front and rear or just rear?
I drive mainly on grass and sand.

Stick with the diff fluid. I put 5K in mine front and rear, and it runs nicely. 50K might make it turn extremely wide. I'd say somewhere around 5-10K at the most.

I've got the rear locked in mine and turning is sometimes an issue but I also still had the stock steering servo. I have a new higher torque/speed servo installed, but I haven't been able to try it out and won't be anytime soon.

I run 50 K in mine and it has no issues with turning, although the fluid is heavy it's not all that thick that it will stop the diff from unloading but it will slow it down so it unloads less violently.

I'm with evilgrin here. I ran my old savage with OFNA 50K and really liked it. I didn't notice much loss on turning radius, but then again, the savage doesn't turn that sharp anyway.

The 50K didn't really "lock" it, but it does slow it down the unloading of a diff a lot. Helps with general off roading because all 4 tires are getting a decent amount of power, even if one side is off the ground.
