Hey I'm starting to look into getting a picco .26 for my revo. as far as iv read its a direct swap, exhaust and clutch bell swap straight over all you have to do is get an engine mount for it...

couple questions....

are there diff types of picco .26 motors?
does the flywheel swap over?
what glow plugs can be used?
are they actually easier to tune that 3.3? (mine can be a bit of a strain sometimes)
if the spur is meshed properly will it break anything else?

There are two different types of Picco .26. There is the Maxx and the JL Red Dot. The JL is a bit more powerful and expensive. I used the Maxx in my 3.3. All of the 3.3 accessories will bolt right up.

All you need to purchase is the Traxxas big block kit and it has everything that you should need for your conversion. It includes the linkages and the forward only conversion. This will make the transmission a lot more durable in the long run.

There are better motor mounts than the Traxxas version that allow for better mesh adjustment.

The Picco .26 motors tend hold a real good tune and run best between 220° and 230°.

sweet, i already have FOC. can u name some better mounts? or is it just better to get the traxxas kit due to the linkage etc?

Actually the New Era BB mount does not work with the Picco .26. For the 3.3 I use the Ofna 51531 My only issue with it is it did not give me a lot of adjustablity for spur gear combs. The linkages that were stock with mine worked just fine.

I found picco p2 26 maxx bolted right up with pull start no problems .. a loosen up on the two bolt which hold the mount .. a lil wiggle when u put it back on and tighten the bolts all good ;)

i got the engine and mount from wheelspin.com
good price too

I have the 26 max in my revo right now not even broke in yet has about 7 tanks though it.It runs way better than the 3.3 and i still have the stock exhaust i was told if you get a big block exhaust and header that it will even run better haven't been able to do that yet was thinking about an exhaust from Robin (Extreme RC) 120$ i'M thinking of sending him another motor that i bought to it's a LRP .30x i just need to find out some more info on what i need to get the motor to work. But the picco 26 max is pretty good to. The revo will wheely on demand. I just want to make my revo retarded to drive with as much power as possible.as for the engine mount i'll get back to you but it's not the traxxas i think ofna is what i got
