Was wondering, my differencial bevel gear keeps getting eaten up(86030), along with a couple teeth off the other bevel gear(86031). I wanted to know if it could be the slipper that is too tight wich puts too much on the drive train. went and bash yesterday was doind speed pass after playing on huge piles of dirt and going off-road a bit. ANYWAY finished one speed pass and was on the stand still and floored it and heard a clinging sound that gave me the crEEps(but engine didnt die) so i knew that it was a driveline failure somewhere. Floored it again and the front wheels balooned right away, i knew then that the rear diff was dead...for the second time in a month. Soooo basicly wanted to know your opinion please.

Thanks alot in advanced!!

I found that my diffs lasted much much longer when encased in an aluminum housing and shimmed properly. As long as you maintain the bearings to avoid excess slop, the diffs will last and last.

Which reminds me... I just got a savage again... now I need to find those stupid diff cases again!

That's very odd. I've never run into that problem with mine.
I guess it's because of the alloy hybrid diff cases.

I got derailed from another thread and was about to post a link for industrial shelves.
The diffs are from Fast Lane Machine. Just don't order through Addicted2RC.

They don't sell direct, but they have dozens of distributors. I dealt with Addicted2RC, got the wrong parts, he blamed it on a machine shop error and never returned my calls or emails after that. I then dealt directly with FLM and they are solid gold.
If you go to their site, I think that's where you can find the other dealers. Also, all over Ebay.
Just search anywhere for Fast Lane Machine, or alloy parts for Savage or whatever.

Unlikely. It's tempered 1/4" glass on 2" stainless steel tubes.
I almost took the Savage to the track today, but I couldn't get the shelving unit into the car. I'm really bummed.
