li-polys are the best bet with run time and power.............mamba brushless is your friend!

MIne are regular size recharable 2300 Mah Venom-racing batteries..

I was thinking about doing the same thing Lykan. I really wanna add some decent run time to my mini-t but really don't wanna spend all the money of a brushless system. I mean damn, the motor w/speed control, gotta have a LiPo battery to really get all the potential out of it, plus a LiPo charger which I don't have. The major thing that keeps me away from brushless is that I'm completely happy with the power and speed that I have in my Baja. i just want some nice runtimes likeyou're gettin.

I think I'm gonna build a 7 cell pack out of those Venom AA's. My ESC is good for 8.4 so might as well use it up right?

Rolex hit the nail on the head. Go to ebay and pick up the lipo's. And find a charger that will work. They are kinda fragile, but run time is GREAT,and power lasts longer than standard cells. They are also lighter and smaller.

well, I don;t really want to rock the boat, but on a limited budget I think the Nihm aa's are the way to go, heckl I can't even afford a ready made 7-cell nihm, pack.. maybe I could but I couldn't justify that and a charger for 'em

With three kids and all three of us into the r/c stuff I just can't afford brushless and li-po.. I love the idea of all that speed and power, but it seems like too much in the vids. I would definetaly break it all the time

I want something controllable.
I don't want to have to buy an expensive controller for my r/c's to be able to control them. Stock tx's and esc's work fine for me nice basic and cheap lol

With my upgraded brushed motor ($20 or so) And 6 2300 Nihms (i bought 6 more for about 1hr 45 minutes of non stop run time, and the cheap duracell 1 hr charger I'm good to go.
I get more power than I need (can flip it on it's back at will)
I get enough run time to get bored without new places to run

I may however build a 7 cell pack just to see how much more I can get...

BTW 4 pack of venom 2300 Nihms is 9.99 here local..pretty reasonable for me.
