What lubricant/grease should I use for the differential in my t-maxx 2.5? I cleaned it out and want to put in new grease/lubricant so what should I use? Thanks.

Any normal 1:1 automotive grease is fine. But, you may want to order up some diff locker goo from bad horsie. Since the maxx doesn't run sealed diffs (unless you've upgraded to later 3.3 diffs or revo diffs), you can't use diff oil or it will leak out really quickly.

Never tried it myself, but was always going to:
http://www.badhorsie.com/products/diff-lock-grease.html

This will give you somewhat of a sealed diffs results by making the gears ultra sticky and being thick it slows the diff action unlike straight grease.

Use silly putty. No joke, it really works great as a aggressive limited slip/locker and its cheap.

forget putty, i have seen it cake up plenty of diffs when it gets hot. It provides no lubrication at all.

I use very thick automotive grease in my diff cups and STL8 on my ring and pinion.

Thanks for the reccomendations guys, but olds97 solved it for me pretty perfect :P

Post up the results if you try the bad horsie stuff. I'd be interested in hearing how it works out.

Yes tellus what you think. It should give you some nice limited slip effect without the wear of a spool.I have a tub right here but have not had the chance to try it yet.

Here we go again Olds :D

I used an Ofna Diff Lock Lube in a Max I gave to my Bro in law and that worked great. Can you sat donuts on demand:) the bad horsie may be a slight bit thicker and stuckier.
