So i have been running my CRT .5 on a 2S 8000 maxamps lipo. I decided to see if my little 3S 1550 could bump it up a little just for a hsr. I know these guys run smaller lipo's on mamba max's with 7T cobalts on their crawlers so i figure with a low kv motor like i have, i can get a little runtime from a 1550.
I get it out and let it rip for about 1 minute. Its fast, but not as fast as i know it can be. I bring it in and my lipo temp is above ambient but not by much. then i notice this... nothing is wrong with the lipo and nothings exposed but i thought it was strange. Obviously this contact got hot from a current surge.

My work blocked the picture....

You should have seen that coming. The amp draw on your CRT.5 motor far exceeds the very low amp draw on a crawler. There is a high probability that your pack is already damaged. I'd keep a close eye on it before using it again.

a feigao 9L? from what i have found online, its a 2731kv motor. The cobalt 7t is a 2300kv.

i see alot of people running 2100 3S lipo packs with the 7T. The 1550 is 31A constant and the 2100 is 42a constant

either way, i shouldn't have run it i guess. Oh well, i've got 2 of these 1550's collecting dust here. I may just use it in my 18mt and hopefully the stupid thing catches on fire and disintegrates. :D
It didn't swell and cycled with no errors.

is this what i should looking at?

You are comparing apples to oranges. A crawler is geared much much lower than your CRT.5.

The flightpower pack you linked is an excellent choice.

i guess when you want something to work you make compromises. alot of IF's go into reasoning. bah.

what type of balancing taps are on there? I have a hyperion charger with the hyperion/apache/method taps.

excellent. thanks. any other places you recomend buying flightpower from? I figure 164 (20 rebate) plus shipping isn't bad

Tower is a good source. You can also find them cheaper on ebay but its hit or miss.

cool, i'll grab one from tower when the funds free up.

thanks for the help.

I am such a tool when i want something to work. I need to be pistol whipped every now and then :D
