Default needle settings question

Hey all I just got a Losi XXL to go with my Mayhem ST but I've got a question that's been plaguing me for a while. Are the settings they give you in the manual optimum settings or are they already overly rich? Thing is when I did the first three tanks of break in I made the LSN richer from the default settings.

Factory settings are by default rich, it's a safe setting to make sure you(or anyone else) don't blow up the engine on the first tank.

Richer is safer.............but lean is FAST! (Also HOT!)
