Opinions wanted, here's my situation,

I bought a Team Losi Aftershock roller project quite a while back but have never finished it. I bought all the parts needed except an engine but still it sat. I recently got the bug to build it and I bought a new engine for it.

Now since this IS short course talk, here's my delimma. I've always liked the sc trucks since I first saw them. As I have posted in other threads,my son now has a Slash and seeing it is really making me want a nitro version. I hate to sell an unfinished project but I could probably get enough for used Slayer out the truck and engine(sold seperately). Or I also have another rig I could sell and the combined amount should get me a new Slayer or a used SC8.

I just can't decide which way to go? Keep it all, sell it all or sell part of it.
And if it matters, if I sell the 2 rigs and buy a new one I'd still have 3 rigs.
Opinions?

For the truck, I'd say go with the SC8. It looks like a very fun truck and it's 1/8 scale. All I see Slayers do is roll over even when set up.

The aftershock is going to come down to your personal want. You have to ask yourself these few questions:
1. How much will i use the aftershock?
2. If I go race, will it be competative in the class?
3.how much do I really want a short course truck?

Once you answer those, youll figure it out, although you seem to have already made up your mind to go the sc route. Now on to the next topic. Sc8s are fast. Plain and simple. Theres no if ands or buts about it. They stay flat, jump excellent, but are 1/8 scale. Slayers are also fast but I'm not a fan of the pushrod suspension on a truck that uses such small wheels. Then tend to dig the front end in and also roll very easy instead of kicking out the back end. Thats just my opinion but go sc8.

Go with the SC8.
It rocks, and handles so nice.
Trust me you wont regret the SC8 as it is the funnest RC vehicle I have owned.

I'd say finish the Aftershock and then sell it if you're still wanting to get rid of it. I think you'll get more out of a completed truck then you would one that is still in parts.

As for which SC truck, depends on what you're wanting to do with it. If it's racing then you need to check with your LHS and see what classes they have and what trucks they are limited to (if any).

1. That's a good question. Since it's an MT I don't know,I have my Savage that I love and a T-Maxx that sees little use.

2. I'm not into racing as yet but I think I could hang with the club racers here with either truck.

3. The want is strong on this one!

The SC8 is my preferred truck of choice.

WoodiE,from my experience of daily watching for sale ads on **cough**another**cough, cough**forum*cough**,the MT market is fairly flat and the Aftershock doesn't sell well anyway. In that situation, the engine I have for it is worth more on it's own than installed in that truck.

We have 12 indian casinos within an hour of my house and several offer some free play for your birthday. Yesterday I went casino hopping for my birthday and had some decent luck. Now it's almost time for a new rig for Racer!

Decision time is near! I have enough now for the new Slayer or used SC8 and didn't sell any of my other rigs. I think I'm going to try to force myself to hold out for new SC8,but I'm not very patient or good at saving for a long time. :D

Go with the sc8 because i have a slayer and it breaks about everyday i run it and probably spent about $150 on parts and i just got it a month ago.

Don't waste the money on the Slayer. Those SC8's are just too cool. I'd say save up for a new one and then not worry about regretting buying that Slayer. ;)

keep saving

Sound like your asking because you already know what you want and are trying to talk yourself into it.So keep saving for a new sc8.
Do what I'm doing for a sc10 or slash stick the money in your spare parts box and keep adding to it:D kind of kidding may not be a safe place in your situation but keep saving.

The SC8 is already ordered now :D

keep what you have and just buy a new one. believe me, what u get for your used vehicle isnt worth the time and effort you put into it.
