I'm in the neighborhood for getting another nitro MT. Originally I wanted the LST, but heard of problems such as weak suspension arms and complications with the transmission. I then decided on the Revo but realized that after i get the Revo, the JR reciever, and the VTM, I would have enough money for the LST. I recently talked to a person that owned the LST and said he beats the hell out of it and it keeps going. So my question....do you LST owners experience transmission and/or weak suspension arm problems? These problems were the only thing stopping me from getting the LST.

I would have posted this on the LST forum but i figured I would get responses faster plus more of them on this forum.

Don't get so upset because no one responded to you quickly enough.

I have heard plenty of times that the LST arms are a weak point, same goes with the MGT. Have you looked at the Savage yet? It is almost indestructible. I have first hand experience with Savage durability.

The new SS kit is coming out so you may want to take that into consideration. However you may not want a Kit, its up to you. Just do some hard research, thats what iv been doing since i sold my maxx and that was before christmas. I'm just taking my time, taking in all the factors of the different trucks out there, and now I'm really hooked on the savage ss.

I'd buy the Revo, but then again I have one. I've heard of a few different issues with the LST and some comments from people that bought the vehicle because of the radio it comes with. I'd suggest buy the truck you want for the truck itself and upgrade the radio later.

The Revo sounds good but once you go bigblock you never go back, and if it comes stock with a small block chances are the drivetrain and such wont be able to handle the extra power. I'll keep thinking on this one, i've got all winter. As for the savage, i simply do not want one.

I have heard of a bunch of guys putting a BB in the REVO and not having any drivetrain problems.

the rvos down here are haveing nothing but problems. at the track sunday i think we had 6 broken revo axles. 1 guy is telling me it is because of the 40 series bow-ties they running but they are almost exactly the same size. of course that guy is a know it all was telling me a k2 is not a kanai 2.

whats wrong with the savage? You do have a great point about the reavo being small block and i agree, once you own one you can't go back. Good luck on the buy and buy it cuz u want it not b/c we like it or want one ourselves.

I agree on the big block MT. I'll never drop half a grand on a monster truck if it doesn't at least have a 21 in it stock again. It just isn't worth the headache.

From what I've read and movies I've downloaded (a lot of them), the LST looks to be a hell of a basher as well as a racer.

With all the good the LST has to offer, a few bad things really isn't that bad. All RC's have their weak points, especially with true 1/8 or larger MT's. That's a lot of weight and horsepower. Diffs, transmissions and arms will always be a mildly weak point on any RC that does 40mph and weighs 12-15lbs... it's just the facts of BIG BLOCK power.

As for the big block revo's, I've read quite a few posts of guys having diff and trans issues with the small block, let alone a bb or mid-block 21. Is the revo durable, sure, but it has it's weak points... and a small block.
