Have been debating which system to throw on the scx10 and have read and read and viewed at least 200 reviews on this site as well as just through google search. Decided that I wanted to go with the Novak goat 3s system. Only thing I'm concerned about is the ESC and water. Also is it true all brushless motors are ok in water? The water issue I know is a problem with everything and you always have to be careful and try to make your electronics water resistant. But also I have a bone stock summit vxl that has been submerged numerous times with no issue so that's what makes me wonder if the Novak is water resistant like the traxxas is or not. I was considering going with the new sv3 ESC from castle but really want a motor ESC combo and the torque the goat can put out. My whole goal is optimal torque but still good wheel speed but I don't need to be able to haul ass at all I want torque. Also trying to figure out if to go with the 18.5 turn or the 21.5 turn like I said I want great wheel speed when I need it but the goal is torque i know the 21.5 turn has a lower kv rating so it has mor torque but am worried it may produce low wheel speed. The prices online are the same for both set ups but my LHS has the 18.5 turn combo on sale so thats why I'm trying to weigh out the differences. Any input is greatly appreciated. I'm new to the crawling world and I'm loving it and ready to upgrade my scx10's power plant .

A Goat is not waterproof. IMO go with the new Holmes Hobbies BRXL waterproof ESC with a Holmes Hobbies 35T-45T handwound motor. This setup will give gobs of torque. Water is typically not good for any motor (brushless or brushed) but you can mitigate the damage. I use my wifes old nylons and put the motor inside it. This acts as a small "filter" and will aide in keeping out some muds and other crap in dirty water but still allow you to get plenty of air into it for cooling purposes.

+1 on that!

For a motor have you looked at the new tekin Crawler 410 motors. They have torque and wheel speed. Check them out. I don't know what rig your putting it in, but in my wraith I have a mumba Max pro and a tekin pro4 3300kv. Have good torque and awesome wheel speed.
