I found a 1989 Parma Ford Thunderbird body on eBay, I won the auction and started looking for some decals for older nascar paintjobs. Well I found the Havoline sponsor decals also on eBay and picked those up, since this paint scheme was always one of my favorites. Since both the body and decals had been discontinued for quite a few years finding the number decals turned out to be rather difficult. Thanks to ImBroken finding a set at his lhs I was finally able to complete the body. Heres a few pics of the finished product.

Excellant job NC!! Maybe I'll have you paint my T-Maxx Chevy SSR body for me. Just kidding I'm going to take a stab at airbrushing when my supplies arrive.

Start to finish, once I had all the decals, I would have to guess about 5-6 hours of actual work time. I let each color dry at least twenty four hours though before doing the next color. So it took a little over a week.

JC make sure you post pics of your first attempt.

Nice job man! Now u need to make one of Alan Kulwicki.

I would love to do a Kulwicki body. I have been looking for more old car bodies since I found that one but with no luck. I was worried when I got this one, the package was so yellow due to its age, but fortunately the body was still perfect. I would have to piece it together out of maybe a Brett bodine slixx set to get the Hooters decals, then try to find some appropriate color #7s. But since slixx has disconued there 1/10 nascar decals, that might be a hard find too.

I'm getting ready to do a Dale Earnhardt Goodwrench/Wrangler 1999 Winston all star race Monte Carlo. I am still waiting on the decals to get here, but I have started trimming the body, and looking for the right color blue.

My LHS still has Nascar Decals. Would u like me to check them out for ya and let u know what they have?

NC, Very Nice job.

So, Really you like the older guys who tragically died? I have a video of it. Nascar 93' or something, My mom bought it for me when I was young... If you want it, You can have it for a cheap price, I have no need for it.

Team 17 that would be awesome if you wouldnt mind looking.

Thanks for the offer Skyline, but most likely I have it already. I have been following Nascar a lot of years now and have a huge collection of tapes.

WOW, its really nice to see a fallen driver honored, especially in such detail. There is no telling how much that would be worth to the right people!

I've always liked that paint scheme too. Nice job. Didn't the sheet come with the sig for the roof? Can't wait to see the Earnhardt Wrangler car.

Thanks guys. Nope ,no sig for the roof. These decals are not slixx and did not come with them. I pieced this all together using both parma and autographics contingencies decals, two different autographics sheets, and some left over misc decals from other nascar bodies. I might try getting some clear decal paper and printing some myself.

I tried printing a few decals for some details that I wanted to add but they didn't come out very good. I have a good HP photo printer but colors just seem to turn out semi transparent. plus, you can't print white

Yeah, I know about the white. I only want to print the sig in black on the top of the car. My parents have a black only laser printer, I thought I would try that on some clear decal paper for the sig.

that would probably work out pretty good... such small detail... you wouldn't really notice the transparent effect as much. Definatley worth a shot.

I check them out on Monday. Is there anyone specific you are looking for?
