damper screws?

I had the same ? a while back. I believe the answer I got was they are used for fine tuning your ride height. On my Storm the set screws are on the inside bottom of the A-Arms. If I back them off, or un-screw them, they push against the chassis and move the arm up. With them screwed in all the way, the arm is allowed to move to it's maximum lowest position (when in the air). This may not be the best explanation but I'm close.

They're called "droop screws". Unfortunately, "droop" makes me think of Nancy Reagan, so I prefer to say downtravel limiters.

Anyway, they're to limit the downtravel of the suspension arm, and have nothing to do with ride height (even though you can adjust it with the screws...that's not what they are for). Ride height should be adjusted solely with the spring tension on the shocks.

Downtravel affects everything from how your car jumps, to how the chassis rolls through corners. Although the following link is more for the on-road folk like myself, the same principles apply:

There you go. Wagnerov's got the textbook definition. I was close, just couldn't come up with the term. Kudos to wagnerov for coming up with the proper term 'droop screws'. This adjustment gets overlooked and to be honest, I'm not sure how big of an impact it makes on the performance. I might have been overcompensating with other adjustments when I should have been using it instead. Anyways, Thanks to wagnerov for setting us straight.

This weekend i took a look at this again and all your input was helpful. i noticed that one leg drooped a little lower (when fully extended) so i used the screw to adjust it. I suppose having the same extension would be helpful whilst landing ;)

thx
