There is so much contradicting view points on shocks for the savage it’s making me sick. Could someone tell me the best shocks for the savage, period. And I mean the best, even if this includes using the Nova shock towers and some non-savage shocks. Please be specific, I need part numbers, I’m a newb.

BTW, anyone heard of Team BlueStar chrome alloy shocks? Are they any good? I have a feeling the answer is no, but I can pick them up for next to nothing.

Thanks!

HEy i know noting of shocks but if u want to know about shocks just try some out they may suck but then you can all ways get something better. And I'm sure u have good judgment iv seen dome at tower and iv always liked the LST shocks but they require a little moding to get them on a savage. I'm sure suggestions will come so just be patient, and I'm sure u have great judgement. Good luck

best shocks for what? all around bashing , trying to race , show truck bling?

from all I've read about savage shocks. stock shocks are as good as or better than most aftermarket shocks for jumping / bashing .....but everyone has there own ideas

This thread is going to end up like the other savage shock threads. Everyone will post what they have used and why they like what they used.

I've never run stock. I ran with a few guys that ran stock and I ran just as hard if not harder. They broke shocks, I didn't. I sold them my old stock shocks so we could keep bashing... then they broke a few of those and I ran out of fuel.

I use unlimited engineering supermaxx shocks. I run 4 of them with the navy blue springs that come with them. I use 30 weight oil. I use them in conjuction with NewEra upper arms for use of t-maxx length shocks on the savage.

Here's a link to the shocks: UE SHocks
Here's a link to the arms: New Era Arms

I've heard nothing but bad horible things about those ....get anything but those hot bodies

I heard the same about them sucking, their shafts and bodies are weak and susceptible to bending.

there are def plenty of shocks out there 2 pick from to fit onto the savage etc.

i ran the stocks for allmost a year they are very good the only problem i ever had was bending shafts from big jumps. if you arnt into doing big air then they will be fine

then i decided to get some LST shocks after seeing my friends LST and mounted them up (as here )

it all depends on what you want i think

Those fit on ur savage and if so di u need to make any mods?

It's all on what you want, Find a friend that has integy and try out his truck, do the same with the others. The only shocks that I have not liked are the HOTBODY's. And that's because they leaked and bent very easily. Until then run the stock shocks and just change the oil in them.

What happened to the ability to quote someones post???

Anyway, no, I didn't need to mod anything. You just need to buy the arms and shocks. Once you buy the arms OR buy nova towers, you can run 4 of them. It's difficult to run 8 and I think the only way you can is if you use smaller actual t-maxx sized shocks or the nova towers. They get in the way of the header and fuel tank on the rear.

I get along just fine with 4 and I get 6-8 feet of air under my truck all day long without any problems.

As you can see, running these shocks with the NewEra arms doesn't leave enough room by the header:

And since I don't run a stock tank, I'm not sure about clearance issues there, but I'd assume there would be a problem:

It's still there. Click reply at the lower right, INSIDE their reply box, rather than the 'reply' button on the outside lower left.

I bought the Team Blue Star shocks but haven't been able to use them. On two of the shocks I had the lower snap rings pop and I can't get them back in. Team Blue Star has been no help. The only response they give me is "just put it back together". The Shocks Look Good but Customer service sucks. I would stay away from them. :thumbdown
