So I broke another pull start , I dont think Pull starts are for me. Any suggestions here would be great.

not sure how you keep breaking pull starts unless you are flooding the engine and then puttin one foot on it and using both hands like you're starting a lawn mower lol....You could always try roto start :) that and bump starter are about your only two other choices. Traxxas has the EZ starter but I'm not sure how wide of a range of RCs have EZ start as an option.

Seriously though if your pulling hard enough to break the pull starter then either you're just over zealous hobbyist or you have an issue with your engine. As long as the engine isnt flooded it shouldnt take very much effort to pull the pull starter at all.

Its not to hard to pull at all. I think its because I'm not letting the string recoil all the back before pulling again. New to the hobby and I think I'm not gentle enough more brawn then Brain lol. Anyways its just a pain to fix it. My truck has a roto start pull start combo. So I'm going to buy a couple more spares and just go off the roto start.

The string wont recoil I think I'm moving the spring on the pull. I'm not sure though.

Don't get a root start. I had one after breaking 3 pull starters and the bits came loose and flung in the grass never to be seen again, and I had just done a nut n bolt check lol. Get a starter box. I have one but haven't opened the box yet lol

You have to remember these little things are like lawn mowers, you don't want to fully extend the pull string. You have to just flip your wrist and pull enough to spin the engine couple of revs. It's really easy to swing your arm and over pull it.

Thats what I did I'm a brute lol no gentle touch. Anyways should i try to rebuild it again our is it just going ot be a big pain it seems harder this time around.

Yeah I'm just going to rebuild it and get a spare. A starter box for a monster truck is that possible?

have you ever cleaned your oneway bearing that could stop your string from retracting?

truck has only had 2 tanks run through it, so i thyik the bearings fine. Anyways fixed it today seemed easier then last time.

I keep a roto start as my back up. I have yet to break a pull start but if I get in a situation where I'm having problems starting it Ill pull out the roto start so my arm doesn't fall off. I've never had a problem using a pull start or a roto start.
