Still got to re-enforce a few things 'bout myself:

I might not know "crap"...but I know what products I like - and I certainly don't jump on the mainstream bandwagon just because it's the most popular, most expensive or biggest name out there.

I've always been the type to take the path less traveled, and I'm always willing to stick my neck out for the possibility of discovering something great, or at least a great value. Sometimes I get CRAP - and I'll admit it then too.

Notice earlier that I was man enough to apologize for overexaggerating my statement about the CVEC?
 
Here are a few pipes I keep in my war chest.

From left to right.

Traxxas tuned pipe. Used it once. Cheep and better than the stock on the MaXX

Paris Turbo. GREAT PIPE for racing any off road .15 or .12

Losi XXX-NT Drake pipe Great hi-end on a .12 for long tracks.

AE off road Good all around Off road for the Maxx but I like the Paris better

TOP: CEVC Great to keep around to remind me that expensive things arnt necessarily better and to show people that I gave it a chance but think is sucks.

Shelve the bad taste in your mouth for the CVEC...try it again...give it a good, real second chance.
 
Mike all new AE pipes in production have the mounting braket on front and the shorter inlet with a lip this came directly from on of AE tech support people when i was researching pipes for my T X
 
X, I have the newer style AE with the mounting nipple and shorter inlet, however you still have to trim either the header or pipe to fit it in the stock location, or move the receiver forward.

Yeah this is true. I saw you mentioned it up top so I didn't repeat it. I took about 3/8 inch off of my header the duratrax I listed above and mine fits great here is a pic

I got it from the trusty Dremel . I tryed some mineral spirits I had laying around but that didn't cut it off fast enough. So I just used a wire brush with dremel then i gasket matched my inlet and polished it a bit. :)

AS you can see I dont like anodising, I dont care for paint either unless its on the body. Since that pic I removed the ano off my head on my fantom also. X
 
Mike it is not stock I think you should talk to your parents about this. How are they going to feel about you installing a pipe that is not a factory fit. This is obviously not a Traxxas part because its made by Associated. I would suggest you seek council from your parents on getting a new pipe. X
