Its quite simple if your good at tuning and you have half a brain get a cvec. But if on the other hand you dont know how to tune your engine and pipe for peak power then get any other pipe. There are alot of things to look at when picking your pipe, color, type of power curve it makes, fit, brand, $$$$$(costs), header choice annd so on and so on.

Ok I will reply to this like Retread would.

What are you talking about are you saying that everyone that dosen't run a CVEC only Has half a Brain. I will tell you I know for a fact I have a whole brain. Also don't you think its insensative to say things like that when there could be some one here reading with only half a brain. What if its child with only half a brain. This is a family forum so please think about that when you reply.

Also are you saying that I can't tune my engine? Or for that matter all the people out there with nitro R/C's that don't have Cvec? What a nonsensical thing to say. Hunter I really would have expected more from you. You get a demerit in my book for this post. X

Half a brain? I'm jealous...I've got barely more than my cerebral cortex...but I can tune a CVEC. Ha! Hooie...I crack myself up.

Wow, X - that's just so degrading and sarcastic - you are a genius. I'm very impressed.

Ok - let's lighten up folks...c'mon, it's my BIRTHDAY! I demand peace and quiet children!

Retread, maybe you can point out how I contradicted myself? Read the article and what Mike wanted...LOW END. It says the AE pipe is the most low end you can buy. It also says the efficiency of the CVEC is nothing to be proud of. How many times have you had to take your pipe apart and clean the valve in order for it to work properly. I have several friends that had them, notice I said had. They have since removed them and replaced them with other pipes or removed all the guts from them. I tried one of theirs on my truck before buying the AE and was very glad I did so I did not make the same mistake they did. Why pay upwards of $50 for a tunable pipe to have to gut it in order for it work. Maybe you should read my post a little more closely, where does it say I appreciate a cvec pipe anywhere?

You also say "isn't this what the friggin forums are about" Why do your panties get all bunched up if anyone disagrees with you? Why jump on us for having an opinion other than yours?

As far as linking to your site, the first God knows how many times no it did not bother me, however I have seen others here ripped for doing the exact same thing, spamming. I have also not seen you ever link to anything but your site (you may have but I have not seen it) where you feel your opinion is fact, kind of Holmwreckerish don't you think.

I would really like to know what "extensive" research you have done that you can make a statement "nothing can beat a CVEC" is this a fact or just your opinion?

"I'll NEVER slam, slander, whine, bash, trash anyone for offering their honest, straight opinion". So what did you just do in your last post? Name calling, and yes quite a bit of whining too. I'm sorry Retread if I've upset you but I was merely stating MY opinion.

BTW Happy Birthday Retread.

Ed you know why
2 Reasons
1 I would suppose they arn't leagal
2. they are overpriced junk :)

-1 Thanks
-2 :D

Any comments?

Good grief!

First off - did you miss this part?
"Ok - let's lighten up folks...c'mon, it's my BIRTHDAY! I demand peace and quiet children!"

My FIRST post on this thread was:

"To each his own...yet again I'll throw my piece of mind in to the fray and contradict what X_789 has to say...but that's what this forum is all about! Offering our personal experience and opinions!
X - True, I've NEVER heard anything bad about the AE pipe!
If you don't take the time to learn and understand how the CVEC ipes work...and more importantly, don't take a little extra time when you install them, the CVEC pipes can be a mess to deal with.
With a little understanding and a few extra minutes during install - NOTHING CAN BEAT a CVEC pipe!
Check here for my install tips:
http://www.maxxskunkworks.com/ModsCVEC.htm"

The next TWO posts...NCNITRO and X jump on me and slam me for offering my opinion. And yes, I'll take the knock for OVERSTATING my case with "NOTHING CAN BEAT a CVEC" - I apologize for the exaggeration.

I DON'T get P.O.d when someone's opinion differs from mine! I LIKE differing points of view, it stimulates my puny little cerebral cortex! I have ZERO patience and respect for when other's express themselves with slams...as in the way that X and NCNITRO responded to my first post.

Read my posts again...I never stated that you had any apprecation for the CVEC....??

If you simply state your personal experience...even if you said it was TRASH, I respect that. THAT'S why people ask Q's on forums. When you respond with blatant sarcasm and biased finger pointing because I use products that you don't like - that's when I have a problem.

I will always admit when I'm wrong - and I certainly pay attention when other people voice their opinion.

So - my apolgies for my overly strong wording (nothing can beat a CVEC). I stand on my statement and opinion that for ME, the CVEC is the best pipe I've used. It has a GREAT ability to tune to your needs. I've NEVER had to tear mine apart and clean it. It has AWESOME low end AND high end power.

As for linking to my site - I created it to help people, I got tired of re-writing all my advice and how-to's in threads on various boards. That's why I link to it...I don't make any money off the site. It's great information that's helped many people. Is it spam? Your call.

Some of you disagree with me sometimes - I respect that and could care less (I like it as a matter of fact)... Just don't slam or slander me...or anyone else for that matter for having an opinion and the cojones to voice that opinion.

How many national R/C events have been won using a CVEC pipe?

Why don't the Factory Teams use them?

One, there not leagal is national events, just like the new AE duel chamber pipe. I dont see there new pipe winning any races do you??? I did'nt thing so.

Two, Factory teams only race in sanctioned races, and they run what there told to run like good little sheep. You know what I mean ( put a Fantom engine in my truck??? but O.S. pays me more).

well i gotta put my 2 cents in this lol,

I've had alot of carss, engines, pipes and i goota say the cvec is a good pipe. sure you can't race with it which i think is pretty dumb.

but a certain pipe is for different things, you got paris turbo rings, cvecs, ae, rossi, and all kinds of others. cvec is a great pipe for bashing, you can tune it for street or just strait up off roading. i got a cvec pipe and header on my os and i havnt seen any one in my nahbor hood be able to match my truck in performance since i put it on there, i never seen what the newer short cvec ran like but i know the older modle kicks A$$

but for raceing i would go with a paris turbo ring, seems to be the favorite on the track, it has the low end to get out of the corners and a good top end range

retread you make some good points and i respect his opinion along with every one elses, and ill have to agree with retread a cvec is a hard pipe to beat i know a few of you are gonna bash me but over the 6 years of rc i just really havnt seen any thing make a os perform the way mine does

just my 2 cents

HAVE A NICE DAY:D

Shut the hell up!.... Just kidding :D

You see how he did that Retread, It was stated as his opinion, not as a fact "Nothing beats a CVEC"

Good job on your post Mega, Retread i just gotta bust on ya a little, but it's all in fun man ;)

I've heard good things about the Paris pipe too, I have not tried one of those yet though but might just hae to.

Well Megatmaxx its obvious you are in a special group of people since you run the cevc pipe with good results I will have to remember that.

Things to do today, Add Megatmaxx to list.

You know that was funny becuase I tossed Matts in there J/K X

christian rossi is da shiot and i think every one knows that

x, drink a beer and have a nice day, just because you can't afford a cvec doesn't mean its a pos lol j/k

but come on tell me what is so bad about a cvec? and have you even had one? cause i gotta hear why its so horrible and why its a pos

ncnitro the paris is a great pipe, not the coolest looking but a great pipe for the raceing
