ok, so i have the very original pro .15 maxx. the previous owner installed the rpm wider arms. since upgrading to the os .18 I've been blowing axles out like crazy. just wondering what steel cvds i would need. i had bought a set of used MIP ones off ebay but was not told they were for the narrow chassis. any help would be appreciated! i will be selling the mip axles i ordered if anyone needs any!

I believe any set from a 2.5 and 3.3 will work just fine. I suggest getting the MIP's for the newer version T-maxx.

You would need to find the ones made for the 2.5 T-maxx. The shafts for the 3.3 are even wider and have different inner bearings on the axle carriers so it would not work.

My bad ! My rig is Old school and is the narrow version .15. When I bought my RPM A-arms they had not done the wider arms yet. I was under the idea that the 2.5 and 3.3 shafts where with in spec of each other. I must be starting to suffer from OLDTIMERS !

You could use the 3.3 shafts if you upgrade the axle carriers as well. I haven't broken any axles with the TRX 3.3 (Not sure the size/power difference between that and OS .18) since I upgraded.

ok, so heres what i did. i got the traxxas performance cvds for the 3.3, got all new axle carriers and bearings, and toe links. I've got my work cut out for me tonight! got the rears done. i will post pics of the total installed when I'm done! The is .18 is considered a 3.0 it's got 1.3 up. I'm not sure what hp difference is between the 2. But I know I blew out about 7 of the stock pro .15 axles!

Yea. I'm sure they will be worth the over $ 100 i spent on them! I got tired fast of building the stock shafts! Now ill prob have problems with the center shafts. I'm sure ill be upgrading them soon haha
