Anybody know if any of the Traxxas CV shafts will work??? Jato perhaps or are there any for the Rustler??

The stock Slayer ones are cheap, and will eventually warp in the turnbuckles as they are plastic...unlike the original Revo one which have metal there.

I know the Slayers are NOT the same as the Revo ones..

I will do some research....but being lazy I thought if somebody already had tried to fit some on.

I am sure Traxxas has some in the works as this rig needs them if you drive it at all hard. (read I DO ) :D

A Slayer is a Revo 2.5 with shorter arms and therefore shorter shafts. I don't know if cutting down the Revo shafts would work--depends on how good a job you do. I know its more than I would like to get into.

I agree that Traxxas should be working on it if they aren't already...

BTW--I am curious, what mods have you made to make your Slayer handle better? I drove my buddies stock Slayer and found it lacking in the handling department. In fact my stock Slash (2wd) handles just as well. Or is that just as poorly...

Well I went to 1/8 buggy tires on 17mm hexes, and I am going to play with the diffs today.
It is very much like driving a 1:1 jeep or buggy....very sensitive in the corners. I takes some getting used to ....but I love driving this rig.

Interesting... I keep hearing that in here. I have a Slayer and am not liking the handling as well. But why would a 2wd handle better than a 4wd. Other than the obvious weight difference.:\

For your Slash: Change the shock fluid to 40-45wt, and if not racing it in a stock class, change out the wheels/tires to something with same height but a tad wider. I used the Pro-line chrome wheels and Pro-Line Dirt-Hawg tires.

I did this, and now the truck wheelies (no other mods but a 7 cell 8.4 NiMH) and has incredible traction. I also run about 1/4" of preload in the rear and about 5/16" in the front.

Completely Different vehicle.

Changing wheels on the Slayer is a little more difficult due to the clearence issue with the suspension.
