Local mom/pop hardware is the smallest dimension c channel I've found 1/4Ă—5/16 Ă—6 i need 1/8 for the width and not sure how to cleanly cut 1/8 of an inch off, i considered tape and grinder then clean it up with 60grit and work up but id rather just be done, table saw with fine tooth wont work i have no way to hold it down (did a sketchy sample run with wood made a dangerous oversized toothpick gun) so i dont think that is a viable option

Clamp it in a vise with a spreader piece in the channel so you don't crush the channel. Then use a mill bastard file to file it down to size.

Consider a hobby size band saw if you can afford it and have a place to mount it.

Mine is a Ryobi with a 12" table and 9" throat. It is temp mounted to the top of my roll cab. Gets set down and aside when not in use saving bench space.

Great for cutting the RC size channel, tubing, rod. Along with G10 fiberglass and the odd bits of CF. Gives a clean straight cut.

Hope this helps. Good luck. Cheers. 'AC'

poop i got a band saw with a 1/4 blade for fine woods i didnt even think of it . Possibly could use some flooring too and ductape the channel fast clamp a block of wood across the top of the saw table to send it through

Not sure how thick your talking, but I cut my 1/10 crawler's steel c channels with a Dremel tool with a cutting wheel. :thumbs-up:
They look to be 1/16 or roughly i didnt get thickness measurements when i was there i should have
