I've seen people cut out the right side of the windshield area of their bodys, I guess so the it can get more air? Is there any benifit to this?

Its most important on on-road cars because they are so low to the ground. What it does is allow more cool air to flow over the engine to keep it cool.

Well there probably doing this because the have a front fuel tank with a zip tie with some fuel line on it. They grab the zip tie with one hand and the other hand is free to fill the tank. All while the body is on the car or truck. Its a pain to take the body off evertime you nedd to refuel.

also its very important on-road cars because they are so low to the ground. What it does is allow more cool air to flow over the engine to keep it cool. :) :)

On road its the drivers side, and offroad is in the passanger side isnt it? But yeah it keeps the engine alot cool, and lets the air flow.

As long as the whole allows airflow to the engine, its good. There is no difference with cutting holes in on, off-road cars because the engine is in the same place.

right side left side doesn't matter as long as it aligns with the cooling head of the on my tmaxx i useda 2" holesaw on the windshield area on my onroads 1-1/2" front and 1-1/2" rear
on my onraod it seeemed to stil over heat with just 1 hole i guess because the bodies fit so tightly to the chassis so i opened the rear up and worked great
just my :2cents:

I cut a hole front and back of my body to allow air to pass the cooling head, I also cut out a side hole so my airfilter can suck in air from the front and side. works great :)

I mighta gone overboard but I had to kill any airflow problems dead in their tracks...

here's mine: windshild cut out, grill cut out, and huge area cut out in the back of the body.

have ya rolled it yet with that big ole scoop on there ,lol
looks sweet but i think first roll over will tear it off ,i see your mods with the air cutouts but that take alot of structural integrity (spellling sux this early) out of the body's .not being an ass here but a body that has too much cut out will not last for crap .rolling over will start to crack the fenders and hood i am sure
just my :2cents:

thats why you use the proline .060 bodies.. there so thick you dont need a roll cage..

Echo that. I couldn't believe the difference between the Pro-Line body and the stock Maxx shell.

On my RS4 SS12 kit, I put on a Corvette C6 body and slammed it so low I had to cut a hole in the roof so the motor will clear. Keeps it nice and cool, too.

just found out they got a .070 out now!!! thats my next body right thur!!

I beleive there are ROAR restrictions on the total volume of window holes you can have....that's only for sanctioned races though.....I wouldn't get too happy w/ the hole saw guys racin 38 has a point....even the thicker shells won't last too long w/ too much window taken out....I use a body reamer and just start making holes all over the windows in mine...keeps large debris from getting in and knokin the filter off....
