Hey guys i am working on tuning my 2.5 motor. I am using a filter that came with my 3.3 motor that failed on me . I got the motor used and i am working with what i was able to save. My filter has a few cuts none go threw but one .It is the top part of where the base of the stock motor air filter meets the top part of the bottom part of the filter. Pretty much where the filter sits at the bottom there is a nice crack could these lead to a air leak like issue? I sure enough am seeing the over heating issue with my motor like so many other's have seen/gone threw. thanks

won't effect performance but if dirt gets in their say good bye to the engine.

I am picking up a new one, a few bucks more to protect my motor is not a big deal at this point. I think i will go to the LHS and get a stock 2.5 filter. If not i will get a motor saver . I know prices on them seam to have gone up, i just got back in to the hobby and i think the last one i got years ago was like 10.00 and that was threw a local guy. thanks

They went up due to being designed :)
better? lol i been buying on line and local.Things i need today i buy today and i fi can wait i place a online order. I just got up i am pretty tired and sore i might head out for the air filter. I have a test tank i need to run i am trying to work on my over heating issue. It all comes down to if i can get up and drive my car to the store. Seams like everything has gone up, i kinda like it!!
