what if i can produce some of this plates and towers using carbon fiber, would this help the buggy???

charles.

i will take my car apart ( lx pro m-2 ) and make the plates with the router machine @ my shop ( it is an 80k 5'x10' precision router table, all i need is a drawing and the dimensions of the part, then i will load the info in the computer and magic.

i will get more information 1st on the thickness of some of the aftermarket optional parts out on the market, i will start with ofna models and also will try for the gs storm, my friend has one, i just wonder about how strong shock towers will be using the carbon fiber.

SHOCK TOWERS made out a carbon fiber to me is asking for trouble - one good crash and you'll have a shock tower in 3000 pieces. The front nose brace/radio tray/center diff brace would be great - as the MBX5’s have it set up that way and haven’t heard any issues or experienced any...

Yea, for shock towers def use something stronger than carbon fiber. They take way too much punishment for that weak a material.

well, i will still try to make some out of carbon fiber but for my electric cars, the owner of the local hobby wants me try make a sample for his on road cars, as far as the shock towers for the 1/8 buggies i will use 1/4" or 3/16" aluminum.

Ratzas made CF shock towers for their XR's and they held up just as good as the others. I think they were 3mm thick. I'm sure you can give them a call and they will help you. The owners name is Jeff.

i just don't think that they will give me any production tips.

i will create a few different templates in cad and go from there, i will call the carbon fiber supplier tmrw.
