couldnt start tmaxx..

I couldnt start my tmaxx, so I searched all over this site...learned alot too. Being a man, I thought I could figure out the problem myself. I changed 3 plugs, no start. Adjusted back to factory settings, no start. Ripped apart engine, and changed owb while I was at it, no start. Piston and rod looked great. Even took engine to lhs, everything looked good. Cleaned everything and put back together. You got it still no start. Took muffler off, IT STARTED...woohooo. Now I have to go to lhs and get a muffler, being I dont want to wait for one any longer. can't wait to run this rig again.
This site is so informative and can find just about anything. All the threads I read about nitros not starting, not once did I read about the muffler though. Sorry this was so long, but I just wanted to give thanks for all the useful info here. P.S. When I did get it running without muffler, I didnt have it running long, didnt know if it would hurt it or not.

It wouldn't hurt it if not run for long. It just kills the performance of the engine. We bench fire engines all the time. It's fun to scare the kitty cats

Well, just got done running it to try and re-tune...stripped spur gear and loose motor. Lost 2 screws holding motor to the mount. Must have forgot lock tite or never tightened them(newbie mistake/anxious). Must look at how to adjust spur gear again, after I get a new one.
