Need help for .21 conversion & parts

I did a search and did not find my answer. I want to convert my 2.5 maxx to a .21. I know a need a conversion kit. I've seen on previous threads of the XTM kit and hardcore.

1) Is there any other kits? And which is best?

2) What other parts do I need?

3) About how much would I be spending for everthing?

Thank u in advance for everone's input.

Where did u purchase ur kit & what was the cost?

Got my XTM on ebay for $109 I also thought it was great. complete and cheap.. It was even easy for me!

I had a kit I bought off of E-Bay and it got destroyed when my T got run over by a BMW. After that incident I bought an XTM kit and couldn't be happier.

Hey EP.. did you go to a single speed tranny??? I've had terrible shifting probs since making the switch to .21... opened the tranny, made shift point adjustments.. all that crap.. just nothing but trouble with the two speed.. I'm thinking real hard about the forward only single speed sportmaxx tranny on ebay for 50 bucks.. peace

Nope, metal geared forward only tranny. I had no problems related to shifting until I switched to a 3 speed and after switching back I love the way she moves.

Re: Need help for .21 conversion & parts

1) Is there any other kits? And which is best? Which is the best kit, is like asking which is better - Ford or Chevy? Everyone has their own opinion. As far as what kits are out, many companies make .21 conversion kits, but here are a few: Hardcore Racing, Racers Edge, SuperMaxx, XTM, and probably the newest company CyberMaxx

2) What other parts do I need? This greatly depends on which kit and company you purchase from. Some kits such as the XTM comes with just about everything you need but an engine, while others just come with the chassis.

3) About how much would I be spending for everthing? How much do you want to spend? Seriously - You could probably spend as much as $300-400 for a .21 conversion and a .21 engine, or you can spend as much as a couple thousand...how much you wanna spend?

As I type this I'm actually right in the middle of converting an old style T-Maxx into a .21Maxx using the XTM Kit. While I have everything tore apart I'm going through and replacing or upgrading a lot of the parts. So far this is what I've done and bought:

¬ XTM .21 Kit
¬ RRP Steel gears throughout (Forward Only)
¬ Boca sealed bearings throughout the tranny
¬ RPM Wide A-Arms
¬ Lunsford Titanium Turnbuckles and Hinge pins
¬ Pro-Line Steering Kit
¬ Maximizer Beadlock Rims

I have yet to even start to put all this together yet, and won't until I get the rest of the parts I want such as alum bulkheads, titanium front and rear skids, alum diffs, RPM knuckles and a few other parts.

Again its just a matter of how much time and money you really want to spend. Before buying anything I'd suggest keep doing what your doing now...research, research what kit you think your're going to get and what parts you'd like to add to it. Hope this helps.

I had a 3 speed in my t-maxx but I kept burning up clutches, like a burned up clutch in less than 1 tank of fuel and I switched back to a 2 speed.

o that sucks, i was going to say that would be kool to have a 3 speed.

I was testing the possiblities but it was running the clutch way too hot for some reason. I never did check my engine temp back then so it might have been causing my engine to run hotter than it should.

super nitro rs4 conversion

are there any kits for a .21 conversion for a HPI super nitro rs4? or wil i have to buy all the parts seperate. if so does ne1 know how much any of this will cost?

Another option is the CyberMaxx extended chassis kit from www.rc-solutions.com. It is more expensive, but it comes with more stuff. like skid plates. Check out the buildups here under Members' Projects.
