Re: Need help for .21 conversion & parts
1) Is there any other kits? And which is best? Which is the best kit, is like asking which is better - Ford or Chevy? Everyone has their own opinion. As far as what kits are out, many companies make .21 conversion kits, but here are a few: Hardcore Racing, Racers Edge, SuperMaxx, XTM, and probably the newest company CyberMaxx
2) What other parts do I need? This greatly depends on which kit and company you purchase from. Some kits such as the XTM comes with just about everything you need but an engine, while others just come with the chassis.
3) About how much would I be spending for everthing? How much do you want to spend? Seriously - You could probably spend as much as $300-400 for a .21 conversion and a .21 engine, or you can spend as much as a couple thousand...how much you wanna spend?
As I type this I'm actually right in the middle of converting an old style T-Maxx into a .21Maxx using the XTM Kit. While I have everything tore apart I'm going through and replacing or upgrading a lot of the parts. So far this is what I've done and bought:
¬ XTM .21 Kit
¬ RRP Steel gears throughout (Forward Only)
¬ Boca sealed bearings throughout the tranny
¬ RPM Wide A-Arms
¬ Lunsford Titanium Turnbuckles and Hinge pins
¬ Pro-Line Steering Kit
¬ Maximizer Beadlock Rims
I have yet to even start to put all this together yet, and won't until I get the rest of the parts I want such as alum bulkheads, titanium front and rear skids, alum diffs, RPM knuckles and a few other parts.
Again its just a matter of how much time and money you really want to spend. Before buying anything I'd suggest keep doing what your doing now...research, research what kit you think your're going to get and what parts you'd like to add to it. Hope this helps.
