I was wondering if anyone had ever thought about getting a titanium head for an RC engine. Would it cool faster than alum? Could it be made lighter than Alum since the head is titanium and could thus be thinner.

The problem with Titanium is that it has to be machined.
Aluminium can be poured rather easily. Thus making it more cost effective. If you can find someone that has the facility to cut it. It would probably work great.

Yes in can shatter, but unlikley, the down fall would be heat, but even that would have to be extreme!

They wouldn't use titanium in things like aircraft and the space shuttle if it couldn't hold up to some serious heat. I'm thinking the cost is prohibitive, and that is why you don't see any readily available. As M@xximillion pointed out, if you could find someone with the equipment and the materials...coupled with the appropriate CAD software, you might be able to produce something workable.
