i stripped the threads of the cooling head on my 2.5 and now its lost compressions, so its time for a new head is there anything better than the stock traxxas head?

Um Chuck.....the threads go down in to the block. If you stripped the threads; your block is probably shot. Man that sucks. But to answer your question Nova Rc make great cooling heads.

There is a guy on E-bay selling off ancm(sp) parts. He had a couple of monster sized heads for sale.
