I found this while dremin up ideas

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXUD45&P=7

I just dont know how to use it. I was going to use bright colors and put them in radom order. But then i thought about doing an actual order like squares. But then an actual picture would be cool. I'm totaly clueless but love the idea of a puzzel body. Anyideas?

Sorry for soooo many body shop post i just love to paint.

I have no clue how to use it either.. Whatd Id like to try with it, would be to use the XXX main on the pieces with a pic of something (I dunno of what..lol), and have them trimmed to the right size of the piece, then have the pieces scattered on the lid, maybe put some candy clear on the lid before the pieces and then have a dark backer so it looked almost 3d... Thatd be sweet...

But yeah Painting is REALLLY addicting, I love painting to... Just wish I had more lids..lol

I have used parma mask kits. pretty straight forward, includes a transfer sheet to place the mask where you need it in the body. I did a drip, and a tribal mask. was pretty straight forward, place the mask, shoot the color, back the 1st color, pull the mask shoot 2nd color, back all, done.

Anyone know how to blend two masks. Iwas thinking of having one mask and have flames underneath it like bleed through...

since the paints are clear until you back them, if you did a flame mask 1st, lightly, pulled it and laid the next mask in place you could most likely get that effect. I havent tried it yet, but i was thinking of doing something similar. However i'm waiting till i find an airbrush, so i can do a bit more with the shading and blending.

A solid stripe down the middle of the vehicle a little wider than the mask. Body red, yellow stripe. Couple shades of orange in the mask?

ok, sorry, translucent, not clear.. meaning that you can see thru them, and layer colors to get different effects before you back them with what ever you use to back.

How do you do shdeing and outlining?
I was thinking if you wanted to flames coming through a tear you would

1) put down tear mask
2) put down flame mask
3) paint base coat
4) pull of flame mask and paint flames
5) paint tear and be done

Am i correct?

I think you are out of order and it would be easier to mask seperate

try:

put down torn part of mask
paint base coat (back when necessary)
pull tear mask and mask this area with flame part of mask
spray flame base coat (back when necessary)
pull flame mask (back when necessary)

or

put down untorn part of mask
put down flame (flame or outline part)
paint in order flame, flame outline and then untorn or flame outline, flame, untorn
backing as needed

can't do it. You need the flames to be masked brfore the base coat or else it will jist look like flames in the tear, i want them to come out of the tear.

hey pierow

try this link . this should help in how to lay the masks down.
