Id like to convert an RS4 2 to shaft drive. how hard is this or is the belt drive good enough. also id like to make it 2 speed

But I really don't think it would be worth the HUGE time investment not to mention the parts needed to do it. Unless you are really having problems I would just stick with the belt drive.

To convert an RS4 2 to shaft drive you will need to replace way too many parts to be cost effective. You can pick up a RS4 3 roller pretty cheap. It's really not worth doing.
