I bought this TGX as a part car for my other TGXs. It has been sitting in my garage for about 10 years. I took it out yesterday. Checking out what were missing. It was supposed to have 2 speed, missing center prop shaft, front dog bones. Wrong shocks all around. I think the original car was a pro series as it has carbon fiber upper deck.

I thought it would cost me at least $300 to get new parts. So I decided to covert it to brushless. I have many parts laying around. So took out the worn out spur gear. Put on a metal spur gear (54T), then, I need a bit clearance on both the top and bottom plates. You may ask why not use a 50T? It is because I need to be able to mesh the pinion gear properly without a lot of modification, not a lot of room. I ended up using a 21T pinion gear.

I took out the brakes and fuel tank as there are no need for them.

I think the carbon fiber upper and the original 2 speed make the conversion much easier.

Here is the conversion, I still need to find a couple of body posts which I have, just need to find them.

I will have to wait till tomorrow before I can try it out.

Nicely done. Turned out well. Double fans on the motor. You planning serious running, yes? 2S battery power? Body looks good. Cut out for the fuel tank filler is a small thing. Anxious to read how she runs out. Cheers. 'AC'
