Those the Dynamite .26 Conversion kit make the t-maxx and longer or wider ??? does anybody kno a conversion kit that does ???

Try Unlimited Engineering! They make a great kit!! That's what I wound up going with!! It makes your truck a little longer. No conversion kit will make your truck wider, only your suspension will do that. Try moving the shocks out a little on the arms, you'll notice it will get a little wider. Unlimited Engineering also sells Suspension kits that will enhave the driveability of your truck. Hope this helps out!!

No offense, but buy a savage and keep the 18 on the maxx. By the time you dump all the $ into the maxx to make it handle the power of a 21 (or larger) engine, you have bought 2 savages. If your not hip on the savage, get a mammoth or a MGT. Believe me, it's easy to have a maxx that costs over $1K to build, especially when you start trying to shove a 21 into it.

To answer your question, woody is right. Most, if not all, conversion kits for the maxx only make it longer so the 21 will fit between the trans and rear shock tower. The only way to make a maxx wider is to get the 2.5 suspension arms and axles or get wide maxx rims. If you want to go nuts, do both and you will add a couple inches to the width.

These guys make a set to make a wider maxx as well, but I don't know much about them: Trophy Case RC

As 21 conversions go, the dynamite one is money well spent. XTM makes one as well, but it's kind of weak. I bought the XTM kit and wished I bought the dynamite kit. Then, I wished I bought a savage... then I did and now I'm happy.

Just a quick word on the website stated above. I've been waiting almost two months for the 1/8 differential cases. Needless to say I'm not very happy about it. I'm not bashing them or anything because I know they guy has had quite a few hangups but the point is they have my $106 and I have nothing. I'd rather have the kit than ask for my money back but I'm not gonna wait forever.

Yeah, like I said, I knew that they had stuff, but I've never bought anything there. I guess I'm glad I didn't... I almost bought their fuel tank at one point.

i have no clue which 1 ima go w/ I'm goin 2 do more research.....lol

Spend your money right the first time. That way you will save in the long run. I bought poop parts here and there, noticed each time fit and finish was'nt all that good. Then I bought Unlimited Engineering parts, and have never bought any other brand parts for my Maxx.

Hey Lessen, I have had problems with him also. And, I have to deal directly with him, because he gives me a 30% discount for being Military. Well, let's just say his customer service should be enhanced. No, let me say his customer service sucks. But, I am patient because I know the quality of his products.

Again, Torque, you can either waste your hard earned money or waste in on some inferior product stamped out for every other Maxx. I choose to use my money wisely, as I don't make much being in the military. Just my .02

I've had VERY good luck with my Xtm stuff. I was 110% happy with the whole kit. I think its one of the best and most complete kits out there. (IMO)

I also wanted to add that some New Era parts aren't all that great either. I bought a twin .21-.26 engine conversion from them a while back... while planning to shove two Ofna Outlaws in it. Well... it didn't work. The chassis was extended but not enough for those engines. Lucky for me I know someone who knows someone who works as a CNC machinist. I got what I need now but not after wasting a bunch of money on parts that weren't quite up to par. But again, I'm not bashing them. I have a lot of New Era stuff on my project truck and a lot of it is good stuff. But when we start makin changing our vehicles like we do I think we have to go into it realizing that not everything is always gonna match up. I'm building a T-maxx from the ground up and I'd estimate it's made by about 25 different companies.

woody- Well, I definately have to agree on the customer service part but if the parts themselves are that good then I'll definately stick it out.

is ultimate enginnering only sold on-line or do the send stuff out 2 hobby shops ???

To answer you question, Dynamite chassis setups are longer. You have a couple of good options from this site's sponsors. I've built 2 Daynamite conversions, one .21 Hardcore ext (used chassis) and one Hardcore Mutant. A few of the forum members have the RC Solutions CyberMaxx. All are very good. It will come down to how deep is your wallet.

my wallet isnt that deep i think ima go w/ dynomite or ultimate enginnering................

It's actually UE or Unlimited Engineering and they are one of the more expensive of the manufactures around. The proper spelling for the first name is Dynamite. All mentioned in this thread are good when assembled correctly.

Yeah, don't go with UE if your pockets are'nt that deep. But again, you get what you pay for. Save your money, and buy what you can when you can. When we talk about deep pockets, you better get a deep one if you plan on turning a T-Maxx to a 1/8 scale/.21 truck. Your gonna need CVD's, upgraded transmission, upgraded differentials, etc... You name it, your probably gonna have to replace it within time. The hardest thing for me, when I did my conversion, was the clutch bell/spur gear issue. When I went to a 1/8 scale clutch bell/spur gear, was a few things: mesh and spacing. Now that things are right on, I could'nt be more happy. Thing is insanely fast, and will wheely when it hits 2nd gear. Yeah Torque they do sell to hobby shops, but then again your are going to have to order online if these hobby shops I mention are'nt anywhere near you. By the way, UE takes MO's. So, if you don't have a credit card you can pay them that way. Also try http://www.hobbyshopnj.com, http://www.crispycrittershobbyshop.com Good luck man! Just a suggestion: Save your money and by a savage or a buggy!!!
