I currently have a crawler and love it ! But sometimes I would like something to jump and slide around. Not sure if I should go with a short course style truck or maybe a monster truck ? It would be for dirt, pavement, and grassy areas mowed.
Next question I would like to stay with Traxxas so my batteries could be used in both trucks. However many of their models are out of stock.
is this because the new models are coming out ?
Skill level. Newbee
Budget. $300. + or -

There are several RTRs out there within this budget, the problem is the pandemic has really affected the stock because so many people are staying home. I am guilty of that myself and have ordered a ton of stuff over the last couple of months, be patient. To name a couple, Traxxas and Arrma are good choices.

Don't limit yourself because of a battery plug. You can always change out the plug. There are a lot of really good options out there for $300 that will perform better than Traxxas. I have a Traxxas, but I would go a different route next time.

I've always liked the Losi SCT v1 thru 3 . thats close to my primary basher. I've gone thru 6 batteries at a local skate park.

#1 What would you recommend. For a 1st basher a monster truck or a short course truck?
#2. For dirt pavement and short grass

Short course trucks jump better, handle better, and are faster. Monster trucks are just cool looking and they rarely ever get stuck.

Hi, If u want something to jump I recommend an arrma granite blx it’s so fast and very durable, if u really want a Traxxas at the $300 I recommend a stampede 4x4, but if u want something for smaller jumps and more just kinda sliding I recommend an arrma senton or Traxxas slash or if u r willing to spend 400 the best thing by far is arrma Kraton 4s that thing rips

Yeap, I have an Armma granite BLX 3S. was my first rc and it's tough and LOTS of fun! Also got a Tekno MT410 shortly afterwards and that's in a different class all together. But I still love the granite. If you get a granite, you'll need to replace the servo and you should be good to go. good luck!
