Confusing velineon

I have the VXL-3s on my AET4. recently i noticed that it has been acting really weird. i have a junk battery and it may be to blame so i will get back to everybody when i get my new battery, but right now, when i have the truck in my hand i throttle forward and the tires balloon out like crazy and it has lots of power. then when i put it on the ground, it runs full power for about 5 seconds and goes very slow like the battery's dead. but i could probably give it full power thru the whole battery if i held it above ground. its not like its a gearing issue, it actually drives at full power for just a little bit, but its like the resistance on the ground does something to the power like its a setting or something. i never changed my settings i have had my truck running great for weeks. one day this happened. i reset the speed control and recalibrated everything I'm sure its all right. its just really weird. anybody know if having a seasoned battery can create symptoms like this?

I have 3 vxl stampedes 2 vxl rustlers and 1 vxl bandit and have never heard of this before.
I will looK around and see what i can find out

Start by removing the wheels. See if the hexes are stripped. Move in along the axles and check for stripped parts or broken pins.
Those are the basics that will allow it to run off the ground when there is no load on the drive train.

If there is no binding in the drivetrain and the hexes are seated and not stripped as Rolex stated to check, then you need check out another battery. If your old battery is a LiPo, you need to make sure that it's at least 30c battery.

I think i heard of that a few weeks back can't remember if it was vxl or not, I'll have a look see if i can find it again.

Are you using lipos? If not make sure it didn't get put into lipo mode on accident.

Hey everybody. it was a junk battery. truck runs great now with my 3s lipo. 60mph+ but now... i ran it into a pole and blew my steering apart. I really want to convert my truck to a t4, and eventually maybe into an sc10. does anybody know the necessary parts required to convert the truck to a t4 besides the chassis,towers, and A-arms. will the t3 arms,axles,and other linkage fit the t4? the price of a t4 roller is anywhere from 100-200 dollars on ebay. I just want to upgrade to the t4 because parts for the t3's are so scarce. anybody deal with this conversion before? i would just buy a whole new truck but I've got money into lipo's a velineon vxl-3 and radio already.
