Hey guys! I'm kind of new to this, and i need your help please. I'm looking for an off road Nitro powered RC Buggy, and I have some questions.

I was looking at some buggies on a couple sites and I ran into a couple questions.

My price range is $130-$200.
What is a good and reliable brand?
Where can I buy fuel?
How expensive is fuel?
What's the difference between 1 and 2 speed transmissions?
I've been looking at forums and have seen Lipo batteries a lot. What are Lipo batteries?

I came across these buggies. Are they any good?

I would stick with a more well known brand like Traxxas, HPI, Losi, Team Associated. That way you will have the support and parts available for you at your local hobby shop when the time comes to replace/upgrade parts. I personally would not buy anything if it was not a big brand like one of these. You can buy the fuel at your lhs also, not that expensive.

Thanks!

Couple questions:
What are glow plugs? I know that you need to buy a glow ignitor seperate for most purchses, so are glow plugs already included and installed or no?

Is Kyosho a good and reliable brand?
Are ACME, HSP, Himoto, and Redcat good and reliable brands?

Thanks!

Glow plugs are like the "spark" plugs in your car only they have a filament in them that gets hot when a current is applied to them which in turn ignites the fuel in the engine. The car or truck should come with one installed, bt you should always keep a few handy in your tool box.

Kyosho is another good brand, I really dont know about and have never heard of the other four that you have mentioned. What are the big brands carried at your local hobby shop?? I know that you dont want to spend alot of money, but you should see what they have got for close to your price range.

Check out a few sites.

redcat isnt too bad of a rig.. we have 3 volcanos in the house and they still run strong!!!.. I will put it this way i have replaced 2 of my 3.3's (different trucks ofcourse) but the redcats ae still running strong!!!!

but it is easier to get something that your lhs has pats for or else you will be waiting a week for the simplist part... and just to let you know I think the volcano came out to about 250.. with only a couple extras... traxxas nito rustler, nitro sport.... just a couple of the cheaper models put out by traxxas.
