How do I start my engine when I have compression? Anyone know how to make it go away/remove it?

How far should I loosen the glow plug?

About a quarter turn. Never more than half. Just enough to let out enough compression to make starting easier.

Will a hairdryer work?
It will help. Getting the engine up to around 200F is preferable, but I've had good results once they are at 90F+.
