Howdy Folks,

What a great time we had today, took out the new improved ramp for some jumping practice.... Wowszer...

Was getting some 25 foot jumps outta my revo, amazing stuff, even starting to get some proper control through the air by use of the brake n throttle..

Trouble was overcooked a jump and couldn't correct the flight quick enough and took a huge hit to the rear of the car whilst upside down, immediatley afterwards the spur gear was not inline with the gearcog from the engine.. Was just rattling with no real contact, after going back to the trunk of the car for further inspection i found that i'd bent the chassis at the rear quite severly..

Luckily enough for me i'd bought a spare chassis a couple of weeks ago form ebay.. £5.50 instead of £35 bargain... One of those just in case purchases...

So after getting home, having a coffee and a ciggie... I set up the IPOD and BOSE sounddock up in the kitchen and set about stripping the car from the damaged chassis and rebuilding it onto the new chassis... A new experience for me having only owned the truck for 6 weeks or so...

I had no issues at all, it was fairly easy, only trouble i had was sussing out how to remove the engine and engine mount but once i got round that everything else was no problem, I quite enjoyed it.. and now i know how to build the whole truck front to back....

All in all it took me 4 hours and 30 minutes to do the whole strip and rebuild, which i didn't think was too bad, although no doubt you experts could get it down to 2 hours np..

Anyways just thought i'd share..

Taking her out tomorrow to see what else i can break....think i'll leave the ramp at home tomorrow though..

ya working on them is half the fun like building a modle that you can run and trash.. really killer.. but spendy..

i put my first foc in other day and it took me 2 hours to figur it all out.. for one revo,,
then i did the other revo and took me 20 mins

i allso riped 1 revo and compleatly cleaned it and added new parts new fuel lines.. took me about 2 hours and 30 mins

rember on a revo you dont have to take out the mill mount screws just the 2 mill adjusters.. much faster takes about 1 mins to take a mill out.
the first time i took out a mill it was a pain in the butt.. with the easy start and all that junk..

allso try getting a rc soultions rollcage they make the truck waigh more but when you crash it makes the inpact evenly on the chassie.. i love mine but i take off when no jumping.

well happy jumping and well teardowns.

LOL as many times as i have stripped and added new parts to my revo , i could strip it , clean it and changes chassis in 30min haha

Not gonna lie, I am intimtaded of taking it apart. Just afraid I will not remember on how to put it back together

That's one of the nice things about traxxas... online documentation including parts explosions so you can see where everything is "supposed" to go.

I haven't really tore into mine either. I've had it since november and all I've taken off are the tops of the radio boxes, the engine, shocks, servo's... if the diffs and trans hold up, I don't see a reason to "learn" until I need to. No point in stripping out a screw here or there just to learn. Besides, it's my 9th vehicle... I have a general idea of how things are put together.

Ya I figured you got a few other trucks around there Olds if you've had your Revo since November and haven't messed with stuff like the diff's already ;) j/k

chances are, if you are the one taking it apart, you will remember where the parts go. honestly, though, its pretty simple. i have torn mine down, i dont even know how many times. actually, its torn down right now, waiting on some major upgrades. its fun. get used to tearing it apart - thats half the hobby :)
