which rc car would you recommend?

Slash 4x4 or Savage xl? and why?

What do you want?
Paper or plastic - sugar cone or regular - nitro or electric?
Isn't the Slash electric and the Savage XL technically nitro?
As it is, you're asking for an apples versus oranges comparison.

What's your experience level and how much do you know about nitro engines?

Yeah, two totally different vehicles by size, class, powertrain, etc.

Now if you said a slash 4x4 and a E-Firestorm (which I still think is only 2WD) at least it would be a closer comparison.

But x2 what they said. What are your plans for it, where will you run it, and what's your experience level, then we can make a suggestion for ya!

I'm a mid experienced driver, I'm going to drive it on dirt, probably start jumping some. I know some about nitro engines because i have the GT2RS.

Again you're talking apples and oranges. Traxxas does make a nitro truck similar to the Slash 4X4 called the Slayer.
