I hear that its bad to run the cars in the cold , any truth to this? Going to run tomorrow in the 40`s, is that ok?

No problem running in the cold...as long as you take proper precautions.

1. Pre-heat the engine to get a quicker start up.
2. Do not allow the engine to cool down in the open as it may cool down too quickly and cause parts to warp inside the casing.
3. Be prepared for plastic parts breakage. Plastic is more brittle in the cold and thus more prone to breaking.

Other than that...have fun, and try to stay warm. Two weeks ago, we had snow here in Virginia Beach...and El Pirata, his roommate and I went out and tried really hard to break our RCs. Guess what? It took less than 45 minutes to tank three MTs and three buggies. We had a blast, but it was certainly the shortest bash session we have had.

One thing about tuning, I was running my buggy today. It was about 40-45 and it was screaming, but the head temp was around 200-220. So if ya try to tune it by temperature, don't push it too far, you'll end up leaning it too much trying to get it up to "normal" temps. Look at the smoke and see how is reacts as well as checking the temps.

Speaking of cold weather, we're supposed to get up to 6'' here in Charlotte by tomorrow evening. Funny enough that if it's too cold outside Charlotte will close the schools because it's too cold outside for kids to stand at the bus stop. 6'' here is equal to about 2' up north. 6'' effectively shuts the city down!! I guess I won't be running my engine tomorrow. :\

Man, yall are hardcore down there. The powers that be here close schools 6 hours in advance of a threat of flurries. It really pisses me off because it wasn't that way when I was in school. Matter of fact, I remember the safety videos we had to watch about not goofing off around the school bus, and the kid slipped off a snowbank and the bus ran over (supposedly) them. Kind of funny now that I think back on it, cause the kids and the driver all had this WTF look after the bus went BUMP, and it wasn't even a big kid either.

Nevermind me, I burned some nitro today and I still got a buzz.

You're going to let a little snow stop you? C'mon. I expect much stronger stuff from you. Get out there and make some donuts. Snow is soft for landing big air on. Make some snow angels of a different variety.

Exactly!

Alright alright, I'll have to do some waterpoofing.
And I run Odonnel fuel....perfect for leaving behind trails of yellow snow.... I think I'll go do a few runs in front of my neighbors car doors!

Once you get them started and heated up, they run good in the 20's too =)

Just don't bump into anything *snap*
