So after the original order was lost by USPS and never found, Cobra Racing sent me another set of 30mm wheel extensions for my Traxxas Slash out of the kindness of their heart to replace the lost order. Really cool of them. I got em in today and already fitted em on. Took a total of about 15min and thats only cuz I took my time and brushed all the dirt and grime off the suspension as I did each wheel. They're super easy to install. Just got back from a run and they're, no doubt, exactly what this thing needed! Turning radius is just as good and I didn't experience 1 rollover! I tried. Just FYI: I did not throw the wheel at full speed. As you can see on the pic, the ends of the ruler is the original wheel span. So it is pretty much 30mm PER wheel wider. Now these wheels don't rub the body anymore! Right at $20 a set. Thanks Cobra!

So update: the truck handles so so much more better than before. Like day/night. Still haven't rolled it over once since I had em on. Today tho, one of them (wheel still attached to it) spun off as I was doing donuts in the dirt. Nothing broke or got lost. I went home and fixed it and added thread locker this time. Should be ok

In fact, I just got a new set in yesterday! Just stock replacements. Nothing special. And I'm pretty vanilla when it comes to running this thing around. Mainly speed runs on asphalt or rooster tails and donuts in the dirt. I'm not a jumper. That just looks too exspensive

Installed new wheel bearings last night and went for a few runs today. I got it to hit 60mph which is a slight improvement. As far as Cobra wheel extensions: still holding up just fine and they're making driving this thing a blast. Still not 1 single rollover since putting em on.

UPDATE:

Ok, well, since installing the wheel extenders, I have yet to roll this thing 1 single time on black pavement. Even at high speeds. And let me say, aside from gearing and bigger wheels to make it faster, these are the most fun I've had for $20 spent. Hands down. It is super cool watching this thing spin around instead of flipping & rolling. And then having to go pick it up. And then see what possibly broke... that gets so old. If you wanna overcome the Slash's narrow suspension and virtually eliminate the rollovers, then get em. If you want to drastically change the look & feel of your Slash, then get em. $20. Two thumbs up

UPDATE: Since removing the driveshaft so it's RWD now, all the power being sent to the rear wheels was apparently just a bit too much for these unbelted tires. Out in a parking lot yesterday I had one of the rears tear open and almost off as I was doing a few donuts in a loose gravel/sandy spot on the blacktop. I swear, when the rears spool up now when it's taking off from a dig, it looks almost like a tiny top fuel drag car cuz they swell up so big. But in all this excitement, one of the rubber retainer rings for the wheel extenders slid out of place and pin was ejected. I have spares so no big deal, but instead of using the rubber rings again, I used real small black zip-ties to hold the pins in place. So far so good with those. Other than that, it still will not rollover! It's like a whole new better version of what it was.
