Got my tmaxx out today that hadn't been run in awhile. It cranked and was running good when I ran through the yard and turned around and it just started reving up like it was in neutral. I first thought it may have been a rock in the driveline but that was not the case. If you turn the wheels they turn and rotate normally. Does a clutch go out just like that? This is my first summer so I am sorta a rookie at this stuff. I have read and learned a lot from you guys. Thanks, hotrod

Sounds like a familiar problem I had a few weeks ago. Check your clutch spring. The little spring that goes around the shoes. That may be broke. If it is, you can cut a bit of it off and loop it again to get yourself by for now. My spring chewed a groove into my clutch shoes and it started idling real high. Checked it out, sure enough, broken spring. Hope this helps.

If it was the spring, the shoes would stay engaged. Check your spur and slipper first. If your Maxx has reverse, make sure it isn't in between gears while your at it.
