my truck is now eating cb left and right.
the one i had on there lasted about half a gallon, then it crapped out on me yesterday. i replaced with a traxxas cb and that one lasted...mmmmm.... bout tank, tank and a half. I've been doin this for a while i know how to set gear mesh, but could this be where i goofed, in the gear mesh??

is ur engine mount coming loose, or engine the screws that hold the engine to the engine mount coming loose? i hada problem a while back where i kept chewing up spur gears, then a clutch bell after i put a RRP steel spur gear on it. i knew i was setting the gear mesh right, i even had another guy do it one time. i was using loctite on the enigne mount screws and everything. turns out the screws holding the engine to the engine mount had came loose and i didnt see it because there was a lot of gunk around the engine.

also might want to check out ur chassis, make sure it isnt bent, or flexed. also ur crankshaft on ur engine isnt bent. also check out that the shaft that the spur gear is on isnt bent.

good luck,
later

i figured it out, i had some loose tranny bolts!! when the motor revved it would push the tranny away and cause skipping and thus premature wear. I'm glad i got that solved thanx maxx trooper!!
